Centuries spent amongst the hordes of the Hellish underworld his physical make up had begun to change, even his raging chaotic side took on a more lawful aspect. This Hellish purging purified his orc blood in turn creating not fully a True Red but a Crimson Hellfire wyrm. Eventually the newly formed Hellfire wyrm found its way out of Baator, though tricked into a fathomless gloom much worse then the Tormented hells. Here now The Hellfire wyrm burning in a more controlled state of rage set about a personal siege against the Shades of the realm. Many battles and many wounds set their slow Scarlet taint upon his body as well as his fiery soul. It had come to Gromes Greatest battle with An ancient Scarlet wyrm who possessed the secrets to Black Fire, Long and arduous the battle was, Grom mortally wounded yet standing above the corpse of the fallen. Taking the heart of the Scarlet wyrm into his chest he invoked its knowledge spirit and power into his body, As the Heart would replace much of the wounded heart left in his chest. This Combination of Scarlet taint as well as taking in the essence of this Ancient Scarlet Dragon, was the catalyst that opened Grom's spark and created the Scarlet Dragon that exists today.
Breath Weapon Types: Spray of molten fire (Lava) Sticks to objects enflaming flammable materials.
Cinder Ash: Spews a smoke screen of pyroclastic ash filling a maximum area of 100 cubic yards when in half hybrid form. (Pyroclastic blast in Full Draconian size: As if a volcano had just erupted this searing hot ash blinds chokes and slow burns those caught within.)
Shadow Fire: Blasts a cone of Scarlet black flames that burns the soul as well as the body. Those burned for one remain aglow as if affected by fairy fire, And are physically burned as if by fire as well as draining ones body of its physical will and ability. (dnd Ie Negative levels bestowed in this draining effect
Scarlet dragons are born immune to fire and energy draining but also have the ability to hide in shadows with 40% chance of success; this ability increases 5% per age category to a maximum of 95%. As they age, they gain the following additional powers:
Young: affect normal fires three times per day.
Juvenile: pyrotechnics three times per day. mirror image three times a day (1d4+1 images)
Adult: heat metal once per day. dimension door twice a day
Old: suggestion once per day. non-detection three times a day
Very old: hypnotism once per day.
Venerable: detect gems, kind and number in a 100' radius three times a day. Shadow walk once a day
Great wyrm: create shadows three times a day. (This ability creates a mass of leaping shadows with a radius of 100 yards, duration one hour. All magical {and normal}light and darkness sources are negated for as long as they remain in the radius. Creatures able to hide in shadows can do so in these magical shadows even if under direct observation. Can move and attack normally while hiding in these shadows , effectively giving them improved invisibility. A successful dispel magic spell banishes the shadows .)
